Dear Potential Volunteer, Footprints Ministry is a nonprofit charity whose mission is to provide new shoes for homeless and needy children from infants to age 18. It began in Pinellas County by Rose Averill. Her dream is to spread this work throughout Florida. I am excited with this program and now I am looking for volunteers to help expand this endeavor in our area. Your help would be greatly appreciated. We are in need of donations (new shoes from infants to women's size size 10 and men's size 12 and/or money) and volunteers for "Collection Managers" and "sorting and delivery team" members. "Collection Managers" contact, arrange and maintain collection locations and organized the collection sites and shoe drives. Hairdressers, doctors, realtors, shoe stores, churches, etc are great collection sites. Seek out sites that get repeat traffic and have a friendly atmosphere. As a "collection manager" you would supply each site a bin for shoes and a labeled shoe box for collecting monetary donations. Collection managers then keep in contact with each site and collect the donations to bring to me. Schools, youth groups and other organizations work well for establishing a limited-time drive. We need people to seek out these sources and ask for their participation, help organize the charity event and coordinate with me for the shoe pick up. We also need some help in tagging and sorting shoes. I do most of this at my office, so I will set up times when volunteers can gather. If you would like to participate in this, let me know and I will put you on the list for the sorting team. If you have a van or SUV and you can help us deliver the shoes for the weekend shelter distribution, please let me know. The idea is to spread out the work load, so each manager isn't overwhelmed. Having someone manage one or two sites would be a blessing. I will provide a
packet of information that can be copied and distributed to potential
collection If you cannot volunteer your time, please spread the word to others so that we may find other volunteers and obtain monetary and shoe donations. It will take many hands to shoe the feet of the homeless children in South West Florida. Thank you for having a heart in the right place.

FootPrints One night a man had a dream about walking along the beach with the Lord. The sky flashed scenes from his life. For each scene, he noticed two sets of footprints in the sand; his and the Lord's. After the last scene flashed before him, he looked at the footprints, noticing that at the most difficult times in his life there was only one set of footprints. "Lord, you said you'd walk with me all the way if I followed you. But during the most troublesome times in my life, there is only one set of footprints. Why did you leave me when I needed you most? The Lord replied, "I love you and would never leave you.
